"One of the best teaching tools I have ever seen" - Lefty Kreh

"Practicing with this Gizmo will lead to perfect timing for different cast lengths, correct stroke length for different cast lengths, smooth acceleration, sudden stops and straight line tracking. It is also the best method of teaching double hauling that I have ever found. An instructional DVD is also included and it is ideal for the complete novice or the most advanced caster". - Peter Hayes

One of the casters that I admire most on this planet is Floyd Dean. I have cast with Floyd for two consecutive years whilst visiting North America and he is a magician with a fly rod.

Importantly, Floyd is what I call 'forever the student'. He is a thinker and you can see this in his eyes the moment you meet him.

One sunny afternoon in Whitefish Floyd asked me (with a grin) to come over to the boot of his car as he had something to show me and he wanted my opinion. He pulled out a prototype casting training aid that he had been working on. He called it his Accelerator and he was in the process of applying for a world wide patent.

The Gizmo as I call it was brilliant and I instantly purchased the 5 that Floyd had with him. This device teaches the perfect casting stroke for a range of casting distances.

Practicing with the Gizmo will lead to perfect timing, stroke length, acceleration, sudden stops and straight line tracking. It is also the best method of teaching double hauling that I have ever found. An instructional DVD is also included.

A few days later I cast with the great Lefty Kreh in Baltimore. When I showed Lefty Floyd's Gizmo he said "it was one of the best teaching tools he had ever seen". I gave one to Lefty.

I have since used the Gizmo at my casting classes and I wholeheartedly agree with Lefty. Floyd is on a winner here. If you are serious about improving your casting then you should have a 'Gizmo'.

Here's an endorsement for the Gizmo by Sydney Fly Fisher John Vaccaro. I think it is a nice story. Please take the time to read it.

Hi Peter
Hope you are well. I've heard some fantastic fishing reports coming out of Tassie. Wish I was there.

I thought I would share this short story with you.
Attached is a photo of my 11 year old son Christopher. He has never held or cast with a fly rod before. I took him up to the Gungarlin River (Snowy's High Country) in early January. He had been looking forward to the trip, our 1st boys fishing trip together with David Wilson and another friend for a weeks camping up the mountains.

A couple days leading up to the trip Chris had been walking around the house with the casting aid (metronome) playing with it, just so he would get the feel of the action required to cast.

Not sure how he would go, I was prepared for the worst. However he enjoyed every minute of the experience and even more so, he caught a few as well, that made his day.

This photo was taken just minutes after his very 1st cast. Not bad for someone who has never held a fly rod before. says Dad! :-)

I'd like to put it down to my fantastic ability of demonstrating the cast, but truth be known, it was the muscle memory and feel of the action practising on the casting aid.

Cheers
